2025 Training and Events
Training in 2025
​On most Sundays, we meet hail, rain or shine on Hospital Road, at the rear of the Sydney Eye Hospital at 8.00am.

There are some Sundays on which we will not meet on Hospital Road owing to other activities taking place in the Domain or because Achilles training has been cancelled to allow full Achilles participation in an event. We will advise members of any alternative arrangements in advance.
 

In addition to our regular training sessions, we regularly register teams in Sydney (and beyond) community events.

We will monitor the running calendars in order to identify other opportunities for our members.

8th – 9th March – Orange Running Festival – 42.2K, 21.1K, 10K, 5K
6th April – Run2Cure Domain – 21.1K, 10K, 5K, 3K – The Domain
4th May – Hoka Half  (0650 Start)and 10K (0625 Start.)
11th May – Mother’s Day Classic – 10K and 5K – CBD and Western Sydney. (Web page not yet established.)
27th July (TBC) – Sydney Harbour 10k/5k – Circular Quay, Pyrmont.
10th August – City2Surf – 14K
31st August – Sydney Marathon  – 42.2K – 10K – 4.2K
14th September – Beachside Dash – 10k and 5K
20th October – BBB Run– 21.1K and 10K. Wentworth Point

November – TBD – Assessing options

parkrun: Weekly Free 5km Timed Runs
Achilles encourages members to support the parkrun 5K events that are held throughout Sydney every weekend. If you wish to find a guide [or be a guide] at any of these events, Achilles is happy to help.

Note: Every parkrun is superbly managed, friendly and accessible. However, some are more difficult than others. The degree of difficulty can be altered by characteristics such as hills, broken ground, posts and course congestion. We encourage guides to be familiar with the proposed course in order that any hazards or difficulties are well understood beforehand.
