ACHILLES ADELAIDE
Adelaide Membership

Join Achilles Adelaide
Do you have a disability and want to be part of an inclusive, supportive, and active community?
Achilles Adelaide welcomes anyone with a disability who would like to run or walk, as well as those interested in becoming volunteer guides. As a member, you’ll have the opportunity to attend weekly training sessions and participate in events such as City2Bay, fun runs and walks, half marathons, and even full marathons.
Our members range from experienced athletes to those new to exercise—no experience is necessary. All you need is an interest in staying active and a willingness to give it a go!
What to Expect
Achilles is about more than just fitness—it’s about community, companionship, and the positive impact of regular exercise on both body and mind.
- No need to worry about fitness levels—all paces and abilities are welcome.
- No special gear is required—just wear something loose and comfortable, suitable for the weather.
- Our friendly volunteers and fellow members will be there to support and guide you.

Become a Volunteer Guide with Achilles Adelaide
Are you interested in becoming a volunteer guide and making a meaningful impact in someone’s life?
You don’t need to be a professional athlete or have expertise in health, fitness, or disability support—just a willingness to help, communicate effectively, and ensure both your safety and the safety of the person you are guiding.
What to Expect as a Guide
- You’ll receive training and instructions before guiding someone independently.
- You’ll always be partnered with someone who is slower than yourself to ensure a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
- Communication is key—you’ll work together with your athlete to find the best guiding method for them.
- Most importantly, guiding should be fun!
