About ACHILLES MELBOURNE

Achilles Melbourne Incorporated is proudly run by volunteers. We are a not-for-profit registered charity. Our aim is to increase the participation of people with a disability in physical activities. We achieve this by providing training opportunities and sponsorship for members with a disability to fun run events.

membership

Membership with Achilles is $30 per year (accurate as of October 2023) and paid per year. New members receive a free club shirt with their first year of membership (subject to availability).

TRAINING

We hold regular training sessions at the Tan running track on Sundays and Wednesdays (details below). To attend our training sessions, please RSVP via our weekly newsletter.

Melbourne Events

Set your next goal from one of the events below. Achilles Melbourne provides sponsorship for athletes with a disability who are regular attendees of Achilles Melbourne training or associated events. Please contact our Treasurers at melb.finance@achillesaustralia.org.au for more information about race entry sponsorship for people with a disability.

Melbourne FAQs

Volunteers are warmly welcomed for a number of roles. These include assisting with guiding athletes with vision impairment to run and/or walk, looking after guide dogs and running/walking with athletes at events. We try our best to match your pace to someone similar to you.

Melbourne Member’s Portal

Members with a disability who are also regular attendees of our training sessions or associated activities are eligible for sponsorship to participate in fun run events around Melbourne and regional Victoria. Please contact our committee for further information.
