Return to Training - Sydney

ACHILLES INTERNATIONAL AUSTRALIA  - (SYDNEY CHAPTER)
COVID-19 SAFETY PLAN

The purpose of this plan is to prevent the transmission of COVID-19 among our members and the broader community.

The plan is shaped by the Australian Institute of Sport Framework for Rebooting Sports in a COVID-19 Environment and advice received from the NSW Department of Health, Athletics Australia and Blind Sports Australia.

In keeping with the current NSW regulations and in the best interests of Club members, all persons attending Achilles Sydney training or entering a community event as part of an Achilles team will need to be fully vaccinated.
They will also need to provide evidence that they are fully vaccinated.

The COVID-19 Safety Coordinator is Cindy Skacel
Email:          cindy@achillesaustralia.org.au
Mob:             0417 254 561.

The COVID-19 Safety Coordinator will be the point of contact for all COVID-19 related matters.
The Achilles Committee will be responsible for compliance and education.

COVID TRANSMISSION

  • Current evidence suggests that the virus spreads mainly between people who are in close contact with each other, typically within 1 metre.
  • A person can be infected when aerosols or droplets containing the virus are inhaled or come directly into contact with the eyes, nose, or mouth.
  • The virus can also spread in poorly ventilated and/or crowded indoor settings, where people tend to spend longer periods of time. This is because aerosols remain suspended in the air or travel farther than 1 metre (long-range).
  • People may also become infected by touching surfaces that have been contaminated by the virus when touching their eyes, nose or mouth without cleaning their hands.
  • Achilles members may be particularly vulnerable due to pre-existing medical conditions so attention to methods to reduce the risk is paramount.

 DO NOT ATTEND TRAINING IF:

  • you are feeling unwell.
  • you have any symptoms of COVID-19, i.e. sore throat, fever, cough
  • you have returned from overseas or other hotspot within the last 2 weeks
  • you have been in contact with a person who has COVID-19
  • you are awaiting results from a COVID 19 test
In cases where a member has received medical advice that vaccination is contraindicated, the member should notify the Covid Coordinator. This information will be treated as confidential.
