Vision Australia and Blind Sports NSW worked together to hold the “Sport, Recreation and Leisure Day” at the Vision Australia headquarters at Enfield on September 26th. The event was held to encourage Vision Australia clients, families, friends and suppliers to discover the range of sporting activities available to people who are blind or have low vision.
The Achilles Running Club provided an information stall, with Achilles members Andrew, Claire, Enrique, Markus and Tony on hand to explain the opportunities offered by the Club. The team was also able to exchange ideas with other sports represented at the event. These included cricket, sailing, Tennis and Karate. One of the organisers of the day was Vision Australia’s Kathy Fela, who is a keen runner and a member and supporter of Achilles.
